Collection: Artifacts of Obsidian-12A

Field Report: Site 12A

This collection draws from the imagined lore of an archaeological recovery — Site 12A, where vessels surfaced like remnants of another world. Each piece feels unearthed and cataloged: obsidian-dark clay, mineral sheens, metallic finishes, and glazes that echo landscapes of fire, erosion, and desolation.

Recovery Sites:

Vulcan Crater - Metallic black and silver vessels, reflective like cooled lava crust.

Caldera Expanse - Broad forms with iron, teal, and blue mineral glazes, echoing layered sediment and pools.

Northern Wastes - Rough, speckled clay artifacts with stark exteriors and rare bursts of color within.

Arid Flats - Grounded, earthy mugs and containers in tones of cream, tan, brown, and red.

While the story of Site 12A is imagined, the vessels themselves are very real — shaped, glazed, and fired by hand. Each piece is a singular work of ceramic art, carrying its own textures, colors, and imperfections. Once cataloged here, it will not be repeated.
